GSI Outdoors Bugaboo Hiker Review

GSI Outdoors Bugaboo Hiker Feature

  • 2-liter pot made of nonstick coated aluminum
  • Two 14-ounce bowls and two 14-ounce mugs
  • 2 Sip-It lids; straining lid for pot; folding gripper handle
  • Nested items store in stuff sack for easy packing
Enjoy a gourmet feast while camping in the great outdoors with the Bugaboo Hiker outdoor meal set. The Bugaboo Hiker--which stacks conveniently and stores in n included stuff sack--is ideal for two gourmet hikers who want a functional cookware and serving set but are concerned with weight.

The 2-liter pot nestles the bowls and cups inside for easy carrying.
The set starts with a 2-liter pot and straining lid. Made of high-quality aluminum, Bugaboo pots and pans are light enough for backpacking, yet heat evenly enough to satisfy the most demanding camp cook. Plus, each piece is fully formed and then coated with two layers of durable nonstick coating for added scratch-resistance. The straining lid is made of BPA-free resin, and ensures that you won't need to bring along a separate strainer when making pasta or steaming vegetables.

The kit also includes several color-coded tableware settings: two 14-ounce bowls, two 14-ounce insulated mugs, and two Sip-It lids. The tableware is made of GSI Outdoors' lightweight, flexible Cascadian material, a chemically inert, BPA-free polypropylene design that remains resilient when exposed to both hot and cold temperatures. Moreover, Cascadian pieces won't absorb food odors like other plastics and are completely recyclable at the end of their service life.

Finally, the kit offers an exclusive folding gripper handle that attaches securely to the pot's exterior brackets. The brackets preserve both the interior and exterior pot finishes while still letting you detach the handle for easy storage. And when you're ready to pack up, the pieces nest together and fit inside the 2-liter pot. Just put the pot inside the stuff sack and you're read to go.

About GSI Outdoors
GSI opened its doors in 1985, after a small group of British Columbian siblings made their way down the West Coast to San Diego. Beginning with a few pieces of blue enamelware and a smattering of campfire accessories, GSI Outdoors grew through the years to include full design, manufacturing, sales, and marketing departments, all tasked with developing and marketing an ever-more-innovative line of outdoor cookware, tableware, and accessories. Siblings Don, Ian, and Kathy Scott eventually relocated to Spokane, Washington, where they continue to define innovation through the creation of unique, imaginative, and fun products that reassert their enthusiasm for the outdoors. GSI Outdoors is still a small, privately held company, with no obligation to shareholders, a corporate board, or anyone else aside from its customers and employees. Bugaboo® cooksets consist of a 1qt pot and a 1.5 qt pot. Included is a 6.5"lid/frypan and a 7.5" lid/frypan with a gripper. All with dependable, non-stick coating. The benefit is an even-heating surface that is so easy to clean. Light weight and easy to store this cookset epitomizes value and versatility.
